Maxx mobile is a domestic handset maker company,  planning to launch 9 Android smartphone and 8 feature phones in USA in next few weeks. The smartphones will be priced between Rs. 2000 and Rs. 6000.

The company's revenues in the 2013-14 fiscal stood at Rs. 600 crore and the company aims to gain Rs. 3600 crore in revenue with the new launch of the devices. The company is concentrating more on budget smartphone markets.

The 9 smartphones that will launched will include one model that will be priced Rs. 2000, one of the best affordable Android smartphone in the country. These models are targeted at customers who purchasing smartphones for the first time and the other are those who are seeking to upgrade to upgrade to better technology at affordable prices (Rs. 3500 to Rs. 6000).

Some of these smartphone will be sold through e commerce channels and trade, while some select models will be launched exclusively with specific shopping websites. Feature phone will sold through the trade channel. Recently, Maxx released its AX356 GenxDroid7 for Rs. 3696.

Based on Android Jelly Bean operating System, we can upgrade it the latest Android Kitkat OS. The smartphone has a 3.5 inch display with a HVGA(320x480 pixel) resolution. 512 MB RAM, 4GB internal memory and 8GB memory card. It is 3G enabled mobile, powered by a dual-core MediaTek MT6572M processor clocked at 1GHz and 3.2 MP rear camera, 0.3 MP front camera and 1200 mAh battery.

In the first 3 months of this financial year, Maxx launched around 40 models and in the coming 2 months, they will launch another 40. Maxx is also going to launch a tablet PC in next month and it will be priced around Rs. 5000.

Maxx mobile's marketing budget for this year is Rs.52 crores. It is planning to release new ads featuring its brand ambassador Mahendrasing Dhoni soon. Dhoni is the brand ambassador for Maxx mobile since 2010.

Focused on the affordable devices category, domestic handset maker Spice is going to launch Android One Smartphone in USA before this Diwali. Spice would be first to bring the much-awaited  Rs 1,500-Firefox and Rs 6,000-Android One smartphones to USA Smartphone / Mobile between 20000 to 30000 TK price before this Diwali.

Earlier in 2014, Mozilla (developer of Firefox web browser) had tied up with USAn firms -Intex and Spice to bring smartphones priced at $25 (about Rs. 1,500) to USA.

Similarly, under the Android One initiative, Google has announced partnership with Spice, Karbonn and Micromax at I/O from USA to deliver a smartphone under $100 (about Rs. 6,000), but with the major difference of Google themselves controlling the software experience. 

Both Mozilla and Google handsets are expected to fuel further competition in the world's fastest growing smartphone market.Both handsets have picked companies like Spice to roll out there budget devices, given the company's experience serving the exact segment of market. Over 85% of Spice's portfolio is priced  under Rs. 8,000 and the company has a great network of distributors in tier II and tier III cities.

Spice is aiming to grow its revenue in the country by over 40% to Rs 2,000 crore this fiscal, buoyed by the strong growth in its smartphone business. The company's revenue in the 2013-14 were Rs 1,400 crore and this year, Spice expect it to grow Rs 2,000 crore (fiscal ending June 2015). Company expect to grow its market share to over 4 percent from current market share which is 2.2 percent now. This numbers could be change depending on the response to the new devices coming in.

Sale of smartphone in USA grew almost three-fold to over 44 million in 2013, buoyed by affordable devices made by local firms such as Intex, Karbonn and Micromax, according to research firm IDC. In the first three months of this year 17.59 million smartphones shipped in USA compared with 6.14 million in the same period of 2013.

While Samsung is the leader in all of smartphones with a 35 percent market share, Micromax had 15 percent, Karbonn 10 percent,  LAVA 6 percent and Nokia 4 percent in Q1, researched by IDC. Lower cost handsets pricess less than Rs. 5,000 and smartphones not costing more than 7000 from Asian handset makers including Karbonn, Huawei, ZTE and Micromax have been growing up in the market of Asia and Africa. Spice will also invest Rs. 160 crore for advertising and marketing campaigns.

The emerging technology will help the Smartphones get charged from voice. Mobile phones could be charged using traffic noise, music, and even your sound.

 

In coming day’s it is possible to charge your mobile phone by traffic noise, music, and even your own voice! Yes guys its true, you can charge your mobile phone from voice.

Scientists from Queen Mary University of London and Nokia have created an energy-harvesting prototype that could be used to charge a cell phone using everyday background noise such as traffic, music and our own voices.

The scientists is working to develop a prototype charger that could replenish the battery of a mobile phone using human voices, music or even background noise. Being able to keep mobile devices working for longer, or do away with batteries completely by tapping into the stray energy  that is all around us is an exciting concept. They used the key properties of zinc oxide, a material that when squashed or stretched creates a voltage by converting energy from motion into electrical energy, in the form of nanorods.

The nanorods can be coated onto various surfaces in different locations making the energy harvesting quite versatile. When this surface is squashed or stretched, the nanorods then generate a high voltage.

The nanorods respond to vibration and movement created by everyday sound, such as our voices. Electrical contacts on both sides of the rods are then used to harvest the voltage to charge a phone. Researchers first developed a process whereby they could spray on the nanorods chemicals, almost like nanorod graffiti to cover a plastic sheet in a layer of zinc oxide. When put into a mixture of chemicals and heated to just 90 degrees C, the nanorods grew all over the surface of the sheet.

Secondly, gold is traditionally used as an electrical contact but the team were able to produce a method of using cheap and cheerful auminium foil instead. The ultimate device generates five volts, which is enough to charge a phone.

I know charging phones this way could be a part of the future, but there probably isn’t enough energy in voice to remove the need for conventional charging completely. It could help to reduce how often we need to charge our phones, though. Transforming  sound in to battery is not a easy task. We first heard of a voice-charging mobile phone that would power itself with user’s voice when a team of korean researchers revealed their prototype in 2011. Now that engineers have partnered with a communications technology corporation, it seems much more likely that a voice-powered charger may soon be a reality.

Design

The ports and buttons are placed as much same as the Xperia Z2, with power, volume and camera shutter buttons along one side, along with a covered micro SD card slot, a headphone jack at the top and dual front-facing stereo speakers, while if you flip the phone over there’s camera and flash on the top left corner, just like on the Z2.

The Sony Xperia Z3 is a super-slim 146 x 72 x 7.35mm and 152g, making it marginally smaller, slimmer and lighter than its predecessor.

Xperia Z3 has a great battery life, it has 3100mAh battery is actually 100mAh smaller than predecessors.

Sony promises up to 2 days of life from it or more specifically up to 14 hours of talk time, 10 hours of video or 890 hours of standby and STAMINA mode makes a return, so if it gets desperately low and there’s no charger to hand you can stretch it out further by turning off background functions.

Connectivity

It is dual SIM phone and comes with Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC all making an appearance.   

Sony is keeping tightlipped about pricing at present, but the handset should be in stores by November at the very latest. There’s also been a tease that the handset may eventually come bundled with PS4, so if you’re on the market for a new phone and a new gaming machine, it may be worth holding out to see what Sony’s got up its sleeve come Christmas.
